We are implementing appropriate levels of care to keep our patients and staff safe, given the current and changing environment surrounding COVID-19.

The health and safety of our patients is always our number one priority.

Our clinics in Brisbane, Ballina and Mackay, as well as the Miami Private Hospital & Specialist Centre on the Gold Coast, are private health facilities that only have patients and staff in attendance who are required to be there for the services that are uniquely offered in each location.

None of these facilities will have patients in attendance who are seeking medical assistance with general health conditions, such as colds, flus or suspected COVID-19 testing.

Our Cairns clinic is run out of Apple Tree Skin and Specialist Clinic at 2 Cumberland Avenue, Smithfield.  They offer a range of other medical services including our vein service.  Apple Tree Skin and Specialist Clinic as their own procedures in place to manage the health and safety of their staff and patients and we recommend you contact them directly if you have questions or concerns around their processes during this time on 07 4038 2777.

Are Regular Appointments Still Going Ahead?

At the present time all consultations and some priority treatment procedures will be going ahead as scheduled, unless patients are required to postpone due to meeting the criteria outlined below.

Patients that cannot make their scheduled consultations will be transferred to a video consult with your Doctor.

Patients who can still travel to the clinic and who are keen to go ahead with their consultations should contact the clinic to determine the availability of moving your appointment to a sooner date, as cancellations may have created space in our booking calendars.

Please note that until further notice all elective surgeries and costmetic-focused vein treatments will he on hold from midnight on Wednesday 1 April, 2020.

Who Needs to Postpone Their Appointments?

Appointments must be postponed when patients meet the following criteria:

  • Patients are infected with COVID-19.
  • Patients are experiencing symptoms such as fever and/or acute respiratory infection (e.g. shortness of breath, cough, sore throat, fatigue, aches & pains).
  • Patients have travelled overseas within the last 14 days.  These patients are required to self-isolate for 14 days after entering Australia and we will reschedule their appointments to take place after the 14 day self-isolation period.
  • Patients who have been identified as being within close contact of a confirmed case of COVID-19.  These patients will need to self-isolate at home for 14 days, even if they are asymptomatic and do not require treatment.  We will reschedule their appointments to take place after 14 days after the last contact with the confirmed case and the self-isolation period is complete.
  • Patients who cannot travel interstate due to new boarder closures implemented in many states of Australia on Sunday 22 and Monday 23 March, 2020.
  • Patients who were booked to have their treatments at Miami Private Hospital, which can no longer go ahead as they are classified as elective surgeries.
